Club Nights
We run two friendly club sessions each week – Tuesdays and Fridays from 7pm to 10pm – throughout the badminton season (1 September to the end of April). We usually take a break during May.
Over the summer (June to August), we keep things going with a relaxed Tuesday-only session from 8pm to 10pm. These summer evenings are separate from the main season but just as enjoyable!
We’re a welcoming and inclusive club that loves a good competitive rally just as much as a catch-up at the side of the court. Oakbrook isn’t just about badminton, it’s about community. Many great friendships (and even a few relationships!) have started here.
We have a wide range of playing standards, from competitive team players to those who’ve picked up a racket more recently. While we try to cater for a broad mix of abilities, we’re not quite set up for complete beginners, as we want to keep games enjoyable and balanced for everyone. If you’re just starting out, we’re very happy to point you towards other local clubs that might suit you better. The best way to see if we’re right for you? Come along to a session and get involved!
With up to four courts available and full three-hour sessions, you’ll get plenty of match time. We play at King Edward VII Lower School, which offers ample parking, changing rooms and hot showers if you fancy freshening up afterwards. However, drinking water is only available from a tap, so bringing a bottle is a good idea.
Once you’ve paid the joining fee, club sessions are free to attend. If you’d like to try us out first, guest sessions are £7 per evening — and if you decide to join, we’ll deduct that from your membership fee. Tuesdays tend to be a little busier, but we also offer Friday only membership and run regular coaching sessions throughout the season.
We’d love to welcome you along!
